Holly is a 6-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who was rescued from a puppy mill in Oklahoma and found her way to Houston Cocker Spaniel Rescue.  In the puppy mill, she had been forced to have many litters of puppies, was badly neglected, and had no socialization.  Since being in foster care, Holly has made impressive progress in becoming a family pet.  She has learned her name and comes when she’s called, she can walk on a leash, and ride in a doggie car seat.  She’s working very hard at housetraining and is accident-free as long as she is kept to a regular schedule of outdoor potty breaks.  She loves to be near her humans, and her favorite thing is to snuggle with one of them on the couch, the bed, or in a chair.

Holly sleeps in a crate in her foster parents bedroom and is crated when both parents are away.    She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, but she really prefers the company of humans. She has been around her foster parents’ grandchildren and enjoyed playing with them.  Holly loves to be with her humans, so she will do well in a home where someone can be home with her much of the time.  Because she is a small dog, children will need to be old enough to treat her gently and with respect. Sweet, loving Holly has blossomed in foster care and is ready for her forever home.  She will make a wonderful addition to the lucky family who adopts her.
