Thank you for your interest in fostering one of our cocker spaniels! Fostering a rescue dog is a wonderful, rewarding experience. Sometimes these pups come in from shelters with a broken spirit due to being abused or abandoned. It is very important to us that all dogs coming into our program go into foster homes where they can get the love and care and they deserve. Some need socializing and others need a firm hand and structure to make them a better pet for a prospective family. If you put a dog into a boarding situation straight from the shelter, they don’t get the nurturing they need. We encourage all of our foster families to treat these dogs as they would their own. HCSR pays for all vetting for our rescues…..all the foster family provides is food and lots of love! I can’t tell you how rewarding it is to see a dog bloom into a confident, loving companion when they are ready for adoption.
