KoKo is our 4-5 year old gorgeous chocolate boy who was found matted, dirty, and hungry for food and love. An angel found him, took him in, and turned him over to HCSR. KoKo is an active boy in spite of being sight impaired. He loves playing with his friends, but he is also very loving and affectionate to his human. Unfortunately, KoKo was born with a genetic condition known as PRA, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, and he will eventually be blind. Currently, he seems to have difficulty only in the dark but is quite normal in the day. KoKo seems house trained, as he has never had an accident in foster care; in fact, he tells you when he wants to go out. We would love to get KoKo placed in his forever home where he can learn the floor plan before he loses all of his vision. He will give you lots of chocolate kisses and forever be grateful. This boy will be stunning when his velvet chocolate coat and platinum ears grow out. KoKo is being fostered in Katy, TX.
Benson is our older gentleman who has been very popular with his postings on our Facebook page since he came to rescue in early April with little hair due to sarcoptic mange. This guy may be 8-9, but he doesn’t act it! He is a character! Benson runs in the yard with the other dogs and gets along with all of them. He would love a playmate for companionship as he doesn’t like being alone for long periods of time, and he will play with another dog. He is easy to care for, affectionate, and loving. His tail is always wagging! One of Benson’s favorite activities is taking a stroll. Benson is a laid back boy who loves his walks and is excellent on a leash.
Roxie is a 6 – 8 year old girl who came in with a younger cocker mix (Jude) several months ago. Unfortunately, Roxie had glaucoma and lost sight in one of her eyes and will probably lose it in the other at some point. Roxy is a happy girl, however, and loves to be a lap dog. She’s a petite little girl so she fits in a lap just fine and loves to watch TV and hang out with her human. She’s a beautiful little girl and would love to find a home before she completely goes blind so she can learn her way around. We are hoping someone can find it in their heart to take this little girl in to their home and give her the love she deserves! (more…)
Tyler is a beautiful 4 yr old boy who came from the Tyler shelter. So far he is acclimating to his foster home. He has some trust issues at first but is warming up more and more every day. He loves to stick his tongue out at you and give kisses and seems to be house trained! Tyler would be best in an all adult home or a home with older kids.
Sweet little Savannah made her way to rescue after being scooped up by a Good Samaritan. She had quite a few mats from being out for awhile but she’s safe now! She will be spayed after she gets through her heat cycle and will be available for adoption soon. Savannah has been aged at 5 years old.
