In Memory: Sweet Noah

We made the difficult decision this morning to free Noah of his suffering. He had taken a turn for the worse overnight and started displaying symptoms of distemper. I went to see him yesterday and held his little face in my hands and told him we all loved him. His eyes were glazed over and you could tell he didn’t feel well but he stood up on the table like he was trying to be strong. Noah fought hard but with an already compromised immune system, he just didn’t have the strength to fight any longer. We want to thank everyone for the prayers you sent his way and for the generous donations to help with his care. And to Bear Branch Animal Hospital, thanks so much for the compassion and care you gave our little boy. Even though he didn’t make it, we knew he was in the best of hands. God bless you little one….we will never forget you!

NOTE:  Noah came in from the shelter with a severe case of mange.  He was not even a year old, but because he was never vaccinated, he contracted parvo and then distemper.  This is such a preventable disease with proper vaccinations.  Please vaccinate your dogs annually!  As young dogs are more susceptible to developing these viruses, it is important to keep them on a regular vaccination schedule.  No animal should have to suffer Noah3Noah2Noah in cagelike Noah did.  It breaks your heart to lose a dog when routine vaccinations could have prevented his death.
